Lomé, Togo – 29 January 2026 – Compagnie Aérienne ASKY confirms that a security incident occurred in the vicinity of Niamey International Airport, Niger, during the night of January 28th up to the early hours of today. The incident resulted in minor harm to the two ASKY aircraft that were parked for overnight.
We wish to emphasize the following key points:
- At the time of the incident, which occurred outside of operational hours, no ASKY passengers or crew were present at the airport. The aircraft will be returned to service after maintenance and full compliance with all stringent safety protocols.
- Our scheduled flight operations across the entire ASKY network are continuing normally.
- We reiterate that the safety and security of our passengers, crew, and assets remain our utmost priority.
Compagnie Aérienne ASKY sincerely apologizes to the passengers on Niamey routes whose particular schedule was impacted by the incident, and we are providing re-protection on alternative available schedules.
