Knowing your baggage can make a big difference for your trip. Since you will not have access to your checked luggage during the flight, we recommend that you keep valuable items, fragile items, money and important documents with you in the cabin. 

Any object considered dangerous in your luggage will be removed during security checks.

For air transport safety reasons, liquids in the cabin are strictly regulated and must be authorized.

Keep your travel documents in your hand luggage and for easy identification of your luggage, you should also label it with your full contact information (name, surname, address, telephone number and e-mail).

Since September 1, 2022, ASKY offers you the following for your luggage:


Carry on luggage
  • Business class: 10 kg
  • Economy class: 07 kg
 
Check-in luggage
  • Business class: two pieces of 32 kg each
  • Economy class:  two pieces of 23 kg each


ASKY club members benefit from an additional baggage allowance according to their level.

Beyond your free baggage allowance, the extra baggage fee must be paid at the ASKY office at the airport during check-in time.


SPECIAL BAGGAGE POLICY
We understand that some items require special considerations when it comes to traveling. Whether you're planning to bring sports equipment, weapons, oversized luggage, musical instruments, or pets on your journey, we are here to assist you. From detailed instructions on handling sports equipment and oversized luggage to guidelines for traveling with weapons, musical instruments, and pets, this section provides the essential information you need for a seamless journey.

 
General Note:
-  All special items listed below are considered as part of the baggage allowance providing the passenger doesn’t exceed its allowance
-  Musical instruments shall be permitted to be carried in cabin as a carry-on baggage so long as the dimension of the instrument (inside or outside of its package) do not exceed the carry-on dimension standard set by the airline. 
- Block seat baggage service assures passengers safe transportation of fragile or bulky baggage which should not be checked or carried in the baggage compartment. Such service is accomplished by allowing passengers to reserve a seat for such items subject to normal reservation procedures. Otherwise, handling charge shall apply for the loading as checked bagage.
- The handling charges are billed only for the extra care required during the manipulation of the item and items shall be tagged with “Fragile Item” Label.

Any TV above 65 inches will be transported as cargo in accordance with applicable cargo regulations.

Pets Transportation (PETC / AVIH)

  1. Cats and dogs, as defined in current passenger tariffs, may be transported in the cabin or baggage compartment when in a container and accompanied by a passenger or shipped as cargo.
  2. You must bring your pet in a box that does not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm and 7 kg (including the container). If the size or weight is more, the pet must be transported in the aircraft hold.
  3. If the cage is larger than allowed for cabin travel, or the total weight (pet + cage) is more than 7 kg and up to 32 kg, it will be transported in the hold.
  4. Pets (including cage) weighing more than 32 kg must be transported as cargo, following cargo procedures.
  5. You must specify the type of pet and the size of the container when making a reservation.
  6. Charges for pets in the cabin or hold apply at excess baggage rates, regardless of free baggage allowance.
  7. For codeshare flights, the operating carrier’s rules apply.
  8. Pets above 32Kg must be transported as cargo
  9. For itineraries including ET flights, Ethiopian Airlines baggage rules (32 kg concept rule) apply.
